02 How Ordering Works

From Pattern Code to Cut Length in Five Steps

The same sequence for one vanity or a dozen doors. You choose the codes and the lengths; nothing is cut or charged until a person has confirmed the request with you.

Lead Time1 to 10 business daysCut and shipped in 1 to 2 days, as bodaq.com states it.

Step 1Pick the Pattern

Search all 450+ by code, name or colour. The code on the swatch, like W375 or NS814, is what gets cut.

Step 2Samples First

Screens flatten emboss and shift colour. Ask for the physical sample with your cut list before you commit to a length.

Step 3Measure the Run

Film is 48 in wide; you choose the length. The calculator below turns surface sizes into linear feet.

Step 4We Cut and Ship

Send the cut list. Price, stock and delivery are confirmed with you, then each pattern is cut from a full roll and shipped to your zip in 1 to 2 days.

Step 5Install

Do small jobs yourself, or find a certified Bodaq installer through bodaq.net.

Length Calculator

How Many Feet Do I Need?

List the surfaces. Film is 48 in wide and the pattern runs along the roll, so each piece is measured in the direction you want the grain to run. Pieces wider than 48 in take an extra strip and a seam.

Add a surface to start.

The overage covers trimming and a spare edge. 10% is a starting point, not a Bodaq rule; your installer may ask for more.

06 Need an Installer?

Cut Film, and Someone Who Knows How to Put It On

Bodaq film goes on dry, with a squeegee and heat, and most failures start in the surface underneath rather than in the film. The certified installer network lives on bodaq.net. Request an installer and it is flagged on your cut list request.

  • Small jobs, your call. For small projects or DIY applications, installing it yourself is possible. For full room renovations or commercial projects, Bodaq strongly recommends a certified installer.
  • Doing it yourself? Watch the installation tutorial on bodaq.com and read the substrate guides under Documents below.

07 Technical Basics

What You Are Buying by the Foot

Five layers, two tenths of a millimetre. The same film as a full roll, with the same figures, just less of it.

Exploded view of the five layers of Bodaq interior film: transparent film, printed pattern layer, base sheet, air-channeled adhesive layer and release backing

  1. 01
    Transparent Film

Clear protective top layer. Takes the day-to-day wear and cleaning and carries the surface sheen, from super-matt to high gloss.

  2. 02
    Printed Pattern Layer

Where the woodgrain, stone, fabric or solid colour lives. The emboss is registered to the print, so a grain you can see is a grain you can feel.

  3. 03
    Base Sheet

The PVC body of the film, 0.2 mm overall. This is what gives Bodaq the stretch to wrap a bullnose, a column or a curved front without a seam.

  4. 04
    Air-Channeled Adhesive Layer

Pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive cut with a fine grid of channels, so trapped air escapes as the film is squeegeed down instead of blistering. Full strength in 3 to 7 days.

  5. 05
    Release Backing

The liner that keeps the adhesive clean until installation. Peeled back progressively as the film goes on.

09 FAQ

Questions About Buying Less Than a Roll

Answers from bodaq.com, plus where the rest of the Bodaq family fits in. Something missing? Ask it in the notes on your request.

Can I order part of a roll?

Yes. The minimum order quantity is 10 linear feet. This allows flexibility for small DIY projects or testing on specific surfaces before a full installation.

From the bodaq.com FAQ.

How long does a cut length take to arrive?

Material is cut and shipped in 1 to 2 days, with a lead time of 1 to 10 business days. The reply to your request confirms price, stock and delivery to your ZIP before anything is cut.

Lead time as bodaq.com states it.

How wide is a cut length?

Bodaq film comes on 48 in (1,220 mm) rolls, so every cut length is 48 in wide and as long as you order. The pattern runs along the length of the roll.

How can I request a sample?

If you are an interior designer, installer or decision-maker working on a renovation project, you can request free samples of the patterns you are considering: add them to your cut list and tick “Samples first” on your request.

Can I install Bodaq film myself?

For small projects or DIY applications, it is possible. However, for full room renovations or commercial projects, Bodaq strongly recommends hiring a Bodaq Certified Installer to ensure durability and warranty coverage.

What surfaces can Bodaq film wrap?

Bodaq adheres well to a wide range of surfaces, such as:

  • Wood and MDF
  • Painted drywall
  • Metal
  • Glass
  • Laminate
  • Plastic

Proper surface preparation is essential. Sanding and priming may be required for best adhesion.

Is Bodaq film self-adhesive?

Yes. Bodaq comes with a pre-applied, pressure-sensitive adhesive on the back. For optimal adhesion, especially on porous or uneven surfaces, Bodaq recommends Bodaq Primer, designed specifically for architectural vinyl.

Is Bodaq Interior Film fire-rated?

Yes. Bodaq Interior Film is certified Class A fire-rated. In high temperatures, the film melts gradually to prevent flame spread, making it safe for applications on kitchen cabinets, countertops, backsplashes and commercial settings.

Can I remove the film later?

Yes, Bodaq is removable, though it is designed for long-term use (10+ years).

  • Easy to remove within the first hour of installation
  • For older applications, removal may take 30 to 60 minutes for a standard 7 × 3 ft panel
  • Alternatively, a new layer of film can be applied over the existing one for a refreshed look
Does Bodaq offer a warranty?

Yes. Bodaq offers a 10-year warranty on the film material. Read the warranty terms (PDF).

I need full rolls. Is this the right site?

For full rolls at trade pricing, bodaqusa.com is the wholesale site. It sells full rolls only; bodaq.us is where partial rolls are cut.
